Some New Pictures

September 28th - I got to hold Aurelia for the second time. The first time was for about one minute, just before she was sent for her belly surgery. This time actually consisted of me sitting in a rocking chair for a few precious minutes and rocking our beautiful girl. I didn't want to hog her though and gave Charley time to spend with her too. We had used up all the images on the camera though, so I didn't get a picture of him. I did take some video though, which I hope to post some time soon.

Look at those cheeks!!

Even Aurelia has Bobcat Pride! She had just had her first bili treatment "under the lights." She didn't enjoy having her little foam goggles on, but it sure woke her up for a while! Her eyes were open and she was looking around for a good 1/2 hour. She had also just gotten her nasal tube taken out. Her breathing is still quite labored, but the doctors didn't feel that the tube was making much of a difference, so they decided to remove it. As a result, we got to see more of her precious face. It was really sweet to see!

  1. What wonderful pictures -- you can really tell how happy you are to be holding her. The moments are so precious -- you don't realize how much holding your baby means until you can't do it whenever you feel like it!

Glad the first bili treatment went well. They don't enjoy the goggles, but they do look a little cute with them on. ;-)

I know the labored breathing is hard to see... I am glad that they took the tube out if it wasn't making an active difference. I am all for keeping the babies as comfortable as possible under what are already trying circumstances. Your comment about seeing more of her face brought back some funny memories -- I remember how we almost felt like Amara's face was "incomplete" without her gavage tube. And seeing Samina without C-PAP was like a different baby! So glad you are getting to see Aurelia's beautiful face and to touch those lovely chubby cheeks.

  2. Adorable! She is as cute as a button! So nice to see you holding her. I remember how special those first few holding sessions were for me. Here's hoping for more frequent out-of-the-crib time!

  3. Mr.D I am so glad that you have this precious girl to look at and hold! I wish to see her! She looks soooo amazing!! Glad to see you back at school

  4. She is absolutely beautiful Jillian. So good to see you with her. We're thinking of you and your family. Lots of love and prayers to you all!

  5. Thanks for the nice comment, Dnaiella!

  6. Jill and Charley, we are praying for all of you every day. You are both amazing and your girls are both very fortunate to have both of you as their parents. We are only a phone call away if you need a shoulder or a friendly voice. Love you all, Ilene and Gary in New Milford
